Do you have a dog?

As I sit here, wondering what tidbits of wisdom I could share, I look down and see my dogs sprawled out on the floor without a care in the world.

Then it hits me, we have a lot in common with dogs.

Let me share my thoughts.

👉 Some dogs have a great life, plenty to eat, a roof over their head, and toys galore.

👉 Some have a life that’s not so perfect. They come from a broken home, only get table scraps to eat, and are not shown much care at all.

👉 Some are homeless, roaming the streets just trying to stay alive.

👉 Some live in a group home, just waiting to be adopted and shown love.

👉 While some are abused, neglected, bread over and over in unsafe ways. Chained to posts and treated inhumanely.

Can you see the similarities?

But unlike us, the natural tendency of a dog is to show unconditional love. Now don’t get me wrong, we are called to do that as well but most don’t.

We would rather point fingers at wrongs, spew hate towards others and demand our way on those that don’t think like us or act like us.

Dogs, they just show love.

For me, I made a choice 40 years ago to believe the words I read in an ancient book. I chose to follow the teachings of this book and do my best to live a pure and holy life.

This book taught me what unconditional love was. No matter what I did or do there is someone who will always love me.

Sure there are consequences for my actions and the “wrong” choices I make, but I am still loved. And the cool part, I am called to love you with this same love.

We may not agree, and that’s ok. We have freedom to choose to believe or not.

What I do know is this.

👉 I do not hate you if you don’t agree with me. No matter what the world try’s to tell you.

👉 I do not hate you if you live a life that I don’t live. Remember it’s your choice.

👉 I don’t hate you even if you hate me for what I believe.

👉 I know that God loves you and wants a relationship with you. And since He loves you, I do too.

Love like a dog, I do.
