Are you the light at work?

Are you the light at work?

.

.

.

I started the week off by addressing the cloud of negativity at work. All week I provided tips on how to deal with negative people, bullies, unethical requests and how to handle your mistakes in a positive way. Today, I want to show you how that positivity culminates with you being the light others need.

All of our work can sometimes feel like a grind, but it doesn't have to be that way! You have the power to be a beacon of positivity and inspiration in your workplace.

These steps are what has helped me grow as a leader and I know they will help you as well.

Lead with Enthusiasm.

I love what I do! I get excited about the ever-changing opportunities I have to work with leaders who want to get better. You should get excited about what you do too. If you approach your work with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, your energy will be contagious and uplift your colleagues. They say enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm.

Offer Support.

One of the greatest things I learned was to be a helping hand and a listening ear. For you, offering your assistance when someone is struggling and providing emotional support when needed will show them you care.

Celebrate Achievements.

Everyone loves the “atta-boy.” If you win an award, give credit to your team. They will embrace it! Always recognize and celebrate both big and small achievements that they experience, even if they are not work related. Your willingness to acknowledge them will foster a culture of appreciation that will have a ripple effect that can’t be denied.

Practice Empathy.

I started out with nothing, so I can understand and can relate to the challenges team members face. Being empathetic towards someone can make a world of difference in their day. They will respect you for it.

Lead by Example.

I cannot say this one enough. Too many times leaders say, “do what I say, not what I do.” That my friends is not leadership, it’s a dictatorship. By doing what you say you are going to do and living a positive life, one of professionalism, ethics, strong morals and values, your actions can and will inspire others to do the same.

Being a light at work doesn't mean ignoring challenges but rather facing them with a positive and solution-oriented mindset. 🌞 Together, we can create a workplace that radiates with positivity and success!

Go make a difference in someone’s life today!
