Do you have a daily Mantra?

Do you have a daily Mantra?

A few weeks ago, I was asked by John P. Krause to share with him something that I have been saying daily for well over 40 years. It’s just something I first heard when I was 18 and have adopted into my daily routine.

It’s called the “Believer’s Creed.”

Here it is:

“Today is the first day of the rest of my life. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good, but what I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain and not loss, good and not evil, success and not failure, in order that I shall not regret the price that I have paid.
So, I will try, just for today, for I will never fail until I stop trying.”

Most every presentation I have given starts with the audience repeating that with me. I do this to show them that they can control their attitude.

I think knowing that today is a gift for you to choose how you want to live it is important. None of us know how many tomorrows we will have left.

At a young age, both of my girls learned this creed. I believe it helped to mold them into who they are today.

For me, it has had a huge impact on my life. The way I approach work and relationships. Employees and employers.

I choose to make my day a good day and look for the best in every situation.

Am I perfect? No, far from it!

Is my attitude always right? Nope again.

Do I always come across happy? That would be my third no.

Do I get up when I fail and try again? Winner, winner chicken dinner.

That’s what this creed is all about. Having the attitude of success by choosing to be nice.

We all have the same amount of time in the day, make yours count by trying to keep a positive outlook. It will absolutely help keep you focused and grounded.

Go make a difference today!
