What advice would you give a high school graduate?

I have twin nieces that are graduating High School in just a few weeks. I couldn’t be more proud of the young ladies they have become. Both will go off to college with their first two years already completed. Wow!

So I was pondering what advice this sage uncle Boo could give them. Here are some tips I have come up with to help them enjoy life:

👉 Live in the present: Focus on the now, celebrate the experiences and enjoy the little things in life.

👉 Pursue your passions: Be involved with things that bring you joy and fulfillment. NOT what others tell you you should do.

👉 Connect with others: Build meaningful relationships. You never know at what point in the future someone else may need you as much as you need them.

👉 Be grateful: Remember you are where you are because of the blessings God has bestowed upon you. Practice gratitude and appreciate the good things in your life.

👉 Embrace challenges: Always remember that challenges are nothing more than opportunities to learn and grow.

👉 Learn something new: Continuously challenge your mind and expand your knowledge.

👉 Learn to fail: Perfection on this side of heaven is a myth. It doesn’t exist. Learn from what doesn’t work and move on.

👉 Have fun: Travel if you can, explore new places and create new memories.

👉 Don’t forget your roots: Remember there are people who have always and will always be in your corner. Reach out to them if you need to.

Finally, love BIG, love STRONG, and never forget YOU are always loved.
