What are the benefits of bringing Jesus to work?

Yesterday, I asked the question, “If you are a believer, should you bring Jesus to work?” Many of the comments quickly went to religion and other faiths. Believe me, we are all entitled to our own beliefs, but I cannot speak on religions, my question dealt specifically with being a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.

I promised that over the next few days I would be providing concepts on bringing your faith (in this case Jesus) to work, the benefits it can offer (today’s topic) as well as navigating its challenges (tomorrow) and I will finish it up with some practical steps and suggestions on how to do this.

So let’s look at some of the benefits of “Bringing Jesus to Work”.

Purpose and Meaning:

Integrating your faith in Christ into your work can fill your daily tasks with a deeper sense of purpose and meaning. Instead of viewing your job solely as a means to earn a paycheck, you may see it as an opportunity to share the Gospel by living out your values while making a positive impact on the world.

Ethical Decision-Making:

Faith often provides a moral framework, the “True North” if you will, that can guide your decision- making in the workplace. When faced with ethical dilemmas, your belief can help you navigate these challenges with integrity and honesty. Please understand I AM NOT saying that those that operate without Jesus lack integrity and honesty. In fact, its unfortunate, but just the opposite happens. Sometimes, professing Christians don’t believe that faith and work can work together. This is one of the main reasons I do what I do.

Work-Life Balance:

Faith can also help you maintain a healthier work-life balance. It encourages rest, reflection, and the prioritization of relationships and personal well-being, which are essential for long-term success and happiness.

Strength:

Faith can provide you with the inner strength and resilience needed to cope with workplace stress, setbacks, and adversity. It offers a source of hope and perspective during difficult times.

Positive Workplace Relationships:

Sharing your faith with colleagues can foster deeper connections and a sense of community in the workplace. It can also be an avenue for supporting and encouraging others in their personal and professional journeys. Again, this isn’t done by beating someone over the head, screaming at them or telling them they are wrong. People will be attracted to you when you simply live out the Gospel before them. They will ask questions and then it will give you the opportunity to share.

Tomorrow I will address some of the challenges that you could face.

Go make a difference in someone’s life today!
